Adapting to the New Blog
9 March 2007Dan recommended WordPress.com so I had a look at it. It seemed as good a choice as any and has way more facilities than blog-city (I haven’t got my head around half of it yet!). It’ll take me a while to get it exactly how I want it, so consider it “under construction” for now. I wanted to design my site so that my homepage just had the titles of each blog entry and a short description, which you would then click on to read, rather than one entire entry after another. I think this is a better method because you can see, at a glance four or five entry titles and know exactly how ‘up to date’ you are. I have, however found the ‘Recent Posts’ widget (on the right) which fulfils this function so I don’t think it’s a disaster. Other things like this will need to be sorted out to get everything tuned to my preferences but it all looks promising.
Onto other things… today’s Nation State issue was about knocking down a rainforest in order to mine some Uranian deposits. I decided to save the rainforest. Interestingly, the population of the Kingdom of Zschwol increased by 1 million overnight. I reckon there must have been a mass exodus from one of the ill-governed islands!
I’ve got a busy few days surrounding me. Yesterday involved the mechanic coming to drain the car of the oil, a pub meal which was delicious and a very challenging and tiring dancing lesson. Today was not so busy although I’ve been working fairly hard on my essays. Tomorrow involves work, another meal out and a Saturday night dance. On Sunday I’m off to see Becoming Jane with Adele and maybe going salsa dancing on the night.
Tonight, I shall relax and go to bed early.
